C-MBSR0102 - MBSR Teacher Advancement Intensive
Course Description
The MBSR Teacher Advancement Intensive (TAI) is the second formal course in the MBSR Teacher Training Pathway. This course offers teacher-trainees an opportunity to strengthen their teaching skills, deepen personal practice, and explore the complexity of stress as it arises in our lives. Participants will also examine the role of mindfulness in cultivating resilience—individually and in community.
Learning takes place within a supportive cohort through experiential teaching activities, reflective dialogue, and guided self-inquiry. Due to the online format, participants should expect occasional between-session assignments to be completed prior to each weekend.
Course Outline
The MBSR Teacher Advancement Intensive (TAI) is delivered online across three immersive learning weekends and one introductory evening session.
Participants should expect:
- Weekend One: The first immersive learning weekend consists of an Opening Evening Session, followed by two full day training sessions (see individual course schedules on the right for detailed dates and times). This constitutes the first of the three multi-day training weekends.
- Weekends Two and Three: The remaining two weekends consist of three full days of training, each day running 9 to 12 hours in duration (see individual course schedules on the right for detailed dates and times).
The daily structure of the full day trainings includes intentional breaks, movement pauses, and space for quiet reflection. Each day is designed to foster deep engagement while balancing learning with personal restoration. Participants are encouraged to use breaks for walking, journaling, or resting to help integrate insights from the training.
* Note: All times are listed in Eastern Time (ET). The exact times may vary from section to section. Please refer to the course schedules found on the right hand side for the exact course dates and times. Schedule specifics may be adjusted slightly depending on cohort needs or instructor availability. Participants will receive a finalized schedule prior to the course start. See each course section for more detailed schedule information. Attendance is required in the TAI.
