MBCT Teacher Training and Development

The School of Professional Studies in partnership with the Mindfulness Center at Brown is a global leader in research and training offering a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher training pathway towards becoming an MBCT Teacher.

Become a Certified MBCT Teacher

Participants engage in an experiential, rigorous and innovative two-step training pathway that blends in-depth intensive formal courses and seminars with time for independent reflective study, assimilation and practice. Participants can begin to deliver MBCT within 12 months and the full certificate may be completed over a period of three or more years (depending on your individual pace), including out of the classroom practice and teaching.

The Application to register for the Foundations course is the first step into the teacher certification pathway.

This Pathway consists of (4) courses, individual mentoring and (1) final review of your submitted transcripts and completed work. The pathway also requires three silent retreats and progressively more advanced teaching requirements that are necessary to complete the training.
